I look at 2020 with so much gratitude for the information and integration of the Enneagram and how I’ve been able to use it to navigate really tough stuff.⁣⁣

When I think back 12 years earlier to 2008 and the Great Recession, the way I handled that messy year was a complete and total shitshow.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We can’t control a lot of things that happen in the world, but we can control our reaction and responses to them.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The way I responded in 2008 was not so great, but the way I handle things now looks very different. And that is the beautiful gift of the Enneagram. Which is why today, I want to discuss…⁣⁣

The numbers we go to under stress.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
When it comes to stress and the Enneagram, we shouldn’t just be looking at our type, because—although our main type doesn’t change—the way that it gets expressed can.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Case in point: each Enneagram type goes to another number under stress. And it almost looks completely different than our obvious displays of character.⁣⁣

Beyond knowing where we go under stress, another thing that’s really important is understanding the stress numbers of all the other types.⁣⁣
